As a Project Designer with the PLACE Alliance New York studio since the summer of 2015, , Mike has worked on a number of diverse projects including the Times Union Center Streetscape in Albany, New York; Gotay Pocket Park in Tannersville, NY; Local Waterfront Recreational Area Plan for the Village of Schoharie, NY; as well as well as several campus enhancement projects on K-12 schools within the Capital Region of New York. Throughout each project he has taken on many expanded roles to provide the highest quality of design through attention to detail, unique problem solving, and work ethic synonymous with the PLACE Alliance brand. He is intrigued by the shifting scales and perspectives as a design moves from the conceptual to the constructed and uses his passion for urban ecology and culturally conscious design to realize its potential. Prior to joining PLACE Alliance, he gained years of construction and design implementation experience while managing his family’s up-scale residential landscape company. It was there that he credits his holistic approach to the balance of practicality and creativity to achieve the most thorough and successful design. Throughout his work and educational experiences, Mike has gained a true appreciation for the impact designers can have on the places that surround us. He is a firm believer in using context, innovation, and form to create ways for people to experience a space in ways that are deliberate, lasting, and meaningful.
