Jhuly Pinilla
Jhuly joined PLACE Alliance’s Florida Studio as a project designer in August 2016. Originally trained as an industrial designer in Colombia, she worked previously with Foro Design SAS, a partner firm of PLACE Alliance, on conceptual exhibit design for the tag! Children’s Museum of St Augustine. Since joining the Florida Studio, Jhuly has worked primarily with the architecture team, using her considerable talent for three-dimensional visualization to bring to life a wide range of different types of projects, from commercial interior spaces to residential neighborhoods to large-scale resort projects. Her work as an illustrator/modeler has been instrumental in building PLACE Alliance’s capacity to more clearly articulate design intentions and outcomes to a wide range of audiences – from private clients to broader audiences as part of large, public charrettes. At the same time, her unique design approach combined with her superior work ethic has allowed her to become a vital collaborator across project teams and across design studios.
Jhuly is a highly talented, three-dimensional thinker with a keen sense of proportion and scale that has assisted her in making the transition from industrial design and the shaping of objects to urban design and the shaping of spaces. By participating throughout the design process, Jhuly is able to provide keen insight into aspects of constructability and maintain a consistent design aesthetic throughout the project’s development. Her attention to detail, dedication to precision, and proficiency in BIM software has made her a highly efficient project designer through design development and construction documentation and a valuable member of the PLACE Alliance team.
